Practical loveFlorence Jornsen
1 John 3:18-20 MSG “My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.”
God knows when your love is fake. You can pretend to man but not God. He sees your heart. ” love is a show but not a showoff” “love in deeds is love indeed” “love that is not shown, expressed or demonstrated is not love”. God demonstrated His love for us and also expressed it in words. (Jeremiah 31:3).
There once was a young man who was in love with a young lady. All through their relationship and friendship, he showed himself friendly, demonstrating true love without words. He never used the phrase “I love you”. However, he was able to convince the lady beyond reasonable doubt that his love for her was real. He did it all by works not just by words. Years after, the same relationship metamorphosed into marriage and they lived happily together ever after.
Telling someone you love them without showing it makes it a showoff. Don’t be swayed by deceit. You shouldn’t be a victim of false love. Love is not all about body chemistry. Love is a strong force. It must be expressed, demonstrated and shown.
