Spiritual distancing by sundering

“Put asunder what God has not joined together” _Florence Jornsen

II Corinthians 6:17 NKJV

Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

The word sundering is a gerund from sunder which means to separate, part, divide or sever. You cannot be totally surrendered to God without sundering from the world. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. All that is in the world includes: the lust of the flesh (the desire of sinful nature), the lust of the eyes and the pride of life are not of God. Sunder and surrender them to God. Surrender your ego. “If your Ego cannot give you Ego(money in igbo) let it go”. _SGJ

Why did God say that you should come out from amongst them and be separate? This is because the will of God is your sanctification. (1 Thessalonians 4:3). God wants you set apart unto him. He said, “you shall be holy unto me for I your lord I’m holy.” In the preceding verse of the above text, certain key questions were asked. Answering these questions correctly helps us to understand why God wants us separated from the world and its lust. The questions are as follows: What fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness? What agreement or concord has Christ with Satan? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? We are the temple of the living God. God said He will dwell in us and walk in us. We are His people and He is our God (2 Corinthians 6:14-16). Jesus said, “the prince of this world comes and finds nothing in me”. (John 14:30) Let’s examine our hearts and ensure that we have no possession of the devil in us. Get rid of everything that is not of God in your life. The word of God is our sanctifier. Let it wash us clean today.

O God, sanctify us through your word for your word is truth. Amen!
